About Me

I believe that women want to live healthier lives emotionally and physically but often lack time, resources or the know-how of where to find them.  I want to provide a supportive community where women help women to be fit physically,  emotionally and spiritually.

Hello! I’m Karla

RN, Life Coach

My name is Karla and I’m a Registered Nurse by day and an undercover blogger by night.  Months ago I decided to go public with my blog but didn’t share it with anyone.  I was too shy to do that.   But, to fulfill a life-long dream of becoming a writer, I took the plunge and started sharing my writing.   I am an information researcher and like to discover and research practically anything.

I have an artistic side that many people know nothing of because I am naturally an introvert.  I enjoy acting and sometimes participate in plays or productions.   Writing has always been a part of my life as I started writing poetry at the age of 12.  However, grammar was never my strong point so I shied away from sharing my writing.  I recently purchased a program called Grammarly and it has become my writing friend.

Over a year ago I watched a YouTube video on acrylic painting and discovered, I could paint, and I enjoy it!   It is very relaxing and therapeutic.  I am a newbie but I’m serious about perusing this hobby.   It’s true, you’re never too old to learn something new.  Music is an integral part of my life not just as a listener, but as a participant.

My desire is to be in optimum health and to share the lessons I learn with others on this journey.  I believe that small steps can eventually lead to huge victories.

How My Fit Lady Got Started

During some personal emotional struggles of my own, I struggled to find resources to help me get through an emotionally draining point in my life.  During this time, I also dealing with a considerable amount o stress and in the midst of taking care of everyone else and drowning in the struggles of life, I let myself go, not consciously or deliberately, things just got out of control.

When I finally addressed the issues and got the help I began to understand how closely connected my emotional stated affected my physical, mental and emotional health.  I noticed how closely interconnected they all were and that addressing one and neglecting another was a losing battle.

Being a nurse, I often work on the disease spectrum of wellness.  I would like to spend some time working on the preventive side and now and provide a community where women can help and support women.
