Some suggestions to get extra water in your diet are to keep water at your bedside at night. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty. I keep a cup or bottle of water at my bedside so I can drink and go back to sleep. Keep water with you at all times. Drink extra water on hot or humid days. Lastly, eat a lot of fruit and veggies that has high water content such as watermelon, grapes, berries, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and melons.

The general rule of thumb is to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day. However, if you are exercising or sweating a lot, you may need to drink more water than this. however, according to the Mayo Clinic, “No single formula fits everyone. But knowing more about your body’s need for fluids will help you estimate how much water to drink each day.”
